About

the Website

Ever-evolving. Each 2 weeks a new family member or story will be added. Traced back as far as the first colonies, they have fought in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, and WWII. They have been farmers, doctors, teachers, civil servants, and cloth merchants. They saw friends and family massacred by Indians (their word at the time) and tended to wounded soldiers on the battlefield. These are the people that shaped our family. I hope you enjoy each and every one of them.

About the Book

As stories are added to the site, they will also be added to a printable file. At the end, there will be a link to order a book full of all the stories and photos.

Since it will include text in as well as photos, the traditional photobook sites may not be able to accomodate. I am researching options. If you discover any, please reach out and let me know.

Add Your Family

Eventually we will get to the generations of today. What pictures and stories do you want to leave behind? Send me items you would like to contribute. If you don’t then what is published about you and your family is up to me.

Old Photos
Photos were passed down among 4 kids. You may have photos that I don’t have. Please look through your collection and send anything you have of value. Especially if it is Paula and Max’s younger years and anything before them.
Are You Traveling or Do You Live in an Ancestral Location?
You could help with historical research like looking through newspapers that are only available on microfiche in the local library or visiting and photographing cemeteries or sites.
Memorable Stories
Remember when Mixon brought all of his students to Dallas for a field trip and they all slept on grandma and grandpa’s floor? Remember when Tobey, David, and Walt Garrison found a nest of baby skunks and brought them home for pets?

If you have a memorable story, please send it along. I have heard some of them but I haven’t heard them all.

General History
The Women’s Suffrage movement, The signing of the Declaration of Independence, The Civil War. Where were our family members at the time and what were the feelings in that community? Let me know what events you’re interested in and I will include it.
